Illustration created for the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles applied to totes and T-shirts that were sold in the Audrey’s museum store during the Leonard Bernstein at 100 exhibition which celebrated the legendary composer. The concept was to illustrate L.A’s Westside (Skirball’s neighborhood) map with its neighborhoods typographically as a reference to Bernstein’s famous Westide Story music score. With little concern for norms the letters crowd their territories in a loud and chaotic way, making a whole that somehow works together, much like most large urban centers do.
